All the new Audi models are finally coming to South Africa

Despite launching some great product internationally, Audi’s local operations lagged – badly. Last year was simply an agonisingly quiet one for Audi South Africa, but 2019 will be different. By a notable margin.

Audi has scheduled several new product introductions for this year and it should revitalise the brand’s local standing and provide much reward for those who have an automotive allegiance to Ingolstadt, instead of Stuttgart or Munich.

The first quarter of 2019 has already seen Audi introduce two of its most desirable products: RS4 Avant and RS5. Both powered by the same 2.9-litre biturbo V6, boosting 331kW, these two RS-products deliver storming acceleration and a more than adequate level of practicality for the enthusiast driver with family responsibilities.

This month sees Audi introduce its sloping roofline Q8, a lower, wider and shorter version of the Q7 luxury SUV.

New Q3 due in Q3

As South Africa transitions from winter to spring, in the third quarter of 2019, Audi will introduce three new models. The second-generation Q3 finally arrives in South Africa by springtime and is sure to provide crucial sales momentum for Audi in the burgeoning compact luxury SUV segment, whilst A1 should do much the same in the compact hatchback market.

Those Audi followers who were converted to the brand by its TT sportscar, will also keenly anticipate the release of a mildly facelifted in the third quarter.

The last quarter of this year will see Audi consolidate its 2019 model range revitalisation with two large luxury cars, A6 and A7. Although the sedan market is waning in South Africa, Audi believe that its stylish four-door luxury family cars deserve to be available to customers who prefer the lockable security of a boot for luggage and laptops.
